The EQUINOX CHAMBER PLAYERS performed in a composers forum and in recital with works by African and African-American composers, featuring the world premiere of Three African Portraits, by Lucius
Weathersby, Saturday, March 31st, 2001 at Steinberg Gallery.
The work, commissioned by the Equinox Chamber Players, takes its inspiration
from three paintings of Dr. Willie Hooker: "African Queen", "The Birth of
